This ICE Ignition kit suits the 1988-97 GQ Patrol TB42S & TB42E 4.2 Litre 6cyl engine fitted with:

• Flat Tappet Cam

• Carburettor(s) - including electronic carburettor(s).

• No forced induction or nitrous.

This ICE Ignition kit is ideal for most street and race cars. The Rev Limiter provides insurance against accidentally over-revving your engine. This kit can also be used with electronic carburettors that control "Air and fuel" only. The Digital Inductive Spark technology delivers the most powerful spark and longest duration of any ignition system. More spark means greater tuneability, which leads to improved performance.

The ICE Ignition 7 AMP 2-STEP Control Box

The ICE Ignition 7062MC Street / Race Series Control Box features the following.

1. 128 Pre-programmed ignition curves - 128 push-button selectable curves enable real-time timing adjustment. It eliminates the need for distributor re-graphing when engine upgrades are introduced. It allows you to adjust the timing for changes in fuel quality. The tuning potential is almost endless, with 128 timing curves at your disposal.

2. MAX REV Limiter - A push-button selectable rev limiter that can be adjusted in 100 RPM increments. It provides great insurance against accidentally over-revving your engine by cutting out the spark.

3. 2-STEP Rev Limiter—This push-button selectable rev limiter can be adjusted in 100 RPM increments. It only becomes active when 12 volts are applied to the white wire in the ignition wiring loom. When active, the 2-STEP takes precedence over the Max REV Limiter. It's ideal if you have a trans brake or launch control, or it could be used as a Valet Mode.

The ICE Ignition controller must be mounted inside your car, not in your engine bay.

What's in the ICE Ignition Kit?

This ignition kit includes the following

1. 7062MC Controller - 128 pre-defined push-button selectable timing curves, push-button selectable MAX REV & 2-STEP Rev Limiters.

2. ICE Ignition Billet Distributor - The ICE Ignition Distributor uses a “Hall Effect Sensor”  to communicate with the ICE Control Box. It will not work unless it's connected to an ICE Control Box.  A SMALL (4" diameter) CAP Distributor will be supplied.

   • A CAST IRON Gear is fitted to the distributor to suit a FLAT TAPPET Camshaft.

3. ICE Ignition 9NIS631 Pro 100 9 mm leads (Black)  - This is a "Plug & Play" lead set with STRAIGHT Spark Plug Boots. Lead fitment is AS PER FACTORY FITMENT. If a different lead set is required, please get in touch with us.

4. ICE Ignition 4200 Pro Series Race Coil has twice the energy of a standard coil and is the ideal coil for naturally aspirated engines.​

5. Wiring Loom - It's approx. 2 metres long and is easy to install.
